* I am not proud of this poem at all. I might be if I were in fourth grade. But this morning my brain feels like it’s full of cement and inspiration can’t seem to chip a hole in it. I decided to post “the poem” anyway, trusting that you can empathize. Maybe I’ll try again later.
Some Things I Know Terza Rima Try One
I’ve been told when choosing books
What really matters is inside.
Don’t judge by how the cover looks
I have learned when I have lied
Someone will catch me every time.
So truth is best. Lies are despised.
I know it is not hard to climb
Cherry trees with sturdy branches.
Success just takes some will and time.
And I’ve found when I take chances
I change myself for good or bad.
These are all parts of life’s great dances.
To own this knowledge makes me glad.
