A Poem on New Year’s Eve 2014

Published January 1, 2015 by kdorholt

2014,
I feel so
comfortable here
cradled by your
blessings and
my knowings.
Thank you for
this final caress
as I prepare
to take
a joyous

into 2015
and its awaiting
temporary secrets—
anxious, but eager.
This wistful
twilight between
one year and
the new
always beholds me
balancing bittersweet
between
two worlds
