A Paris Present (Haibun Poem)

Hot, humid August nights and the banks of the River Seine. Life is vivid. Punctuated by lights glistening double time in air and water. Piercing the blackness with baubles of brightness that rejoice with the myriad voices echoing from the carnival in the Tuileries across the bridge. All create a fragile fantasy world that will ever live on in the poems of those fortunate enough to be part of its wonder.
