Oceans of Coke

For now, Coke, the sun shines,
and you’re kicking it back in Colaland.
But Pepsi’s BLM blunder burst can’t continue.
Enjoy your rest in transitory time-off,
‘Cause if Green Peace persists,
you’ve got a pressing plastic problem

And sailing to Byzantium cannot be your company’s call.

Here’s the grim math in the making:
108 to 128 billion polluting
plastic bottles–mostly single-use
And regretful “refillable” drops already registered
(Really recycled containers leave you flat.)
Unfeasible physically and economically
So you say, but hey if you don’t find a way–
The sea will see more of you than fish by 2050

And sailing to Byzantium cannot be your company’s call.

Can we cope with complacency?
Can progeny survive on empties
When it comes to corporate promises?
Come on, Coke, crusade for our oceans!
Reduce the new; reuse the old!
Sounds rather refreshing!

Because sailing to Byzantium cannot be your company’s call.
