Aubade to morning words from “When sleeper Wakes” by H. G. Wells
As I wake to
a fresh new morning
the rosebud quietly opens
in the melody of
the same spreading sun
devoted to warming
both our faces.

One velvet butterfly
folds its dazzling gold wings
on brilliant violet softness
I rise to taste
this fresh sensual morning

Morning sun beams a beacon on the spring scene . . .
The geese gathered once again to the fishing hole.
One female inches into the nest under the islet’s only tree
Its male ganders on shore, neck solidly stretched at every sound . . .
Ready to retaliate with haunting honk guilty or innocent intruder.
The pair call to one another occasionally over the slight chill
In love songs, I like to think, purely primitive in nature . . .
Intrinsic interpretation stirs my human heart.

Writing to My Roots
...because life is a beautiful mess
sharing joy with the human spirit, in mid-air, around the world
life by design in a small and still charming town.
"A torn jacket is soon mended, but hard words bruise the heart of a child." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
since nobody has the time or patience to sit down and read an actual book
Mental wanderings amongst stardust
For lovers of reading, crime writing, crime fiction
And perhaps some punctuation?
